In 1964 he started to work on "Cancellature" [erasing], a conceptual book in which he provocatively uses subtraction, erasing words both so as to protest against their authoritativeness and so as to create new and more realistic forms of expression. At the 2007 edition of the Notte Bianca, Emilio Isgrò re-presents "The ecumenical prayer for the redemption of art and culture" previously presented at the Venice Biennial in 1993 by Achille Bonito Oliva and also at the Casale Marittimo Festival in 2006.
